The kids may be off school, but the work never stops! We’ve had a busy summer and have made amazing progress on all of our projects. Here’s what has been happening over the past few months:
The roof is on! We are so thankful to our generous donors who pushed our school construction project in Rwanda to the finish line. We’re excited to welcome students to this new building when the academic year starts in a few weeks. 📚🇷🇼
Every day we are amazed by the impact that our corn and chicken project in Malawi is making. The farm yields enough corn to consistently provide 325 vulnerable kids a meal every school day. And soon, we’ll be able to produce enough chicken to add high quality protein to some of those meals without additional expenditures! With your help, we are successfully addressing food security in this community. 🐓 🌽 🇲🇼
We made a big ask and you, our incredible community, have been there for us! Thanks to your generosity, we’re already 65% of the way to our goal to fund a second permanent health clinic in Nepal. We’re excited and on track to open the clinic before the Himalayan winter sets in. 🏥🇳🇵
Sometimes the necessary things are not glamorous…and that’s definitely true about our next big project in Cambodia. JJoy is excited to have contributed funds which allow VBC to purchase a new plot of land where they will build an upgraded warehouse, equipment storage shed and vocational training center. This initiative will help VBC staff as well as community members to improve their technical skills and increase their employment opportunities. Construction starts soon! 🏠🇰🇭
