Kelvin's Success Story

In 2018, Kelvin joined the Love in Action program as a Grade 6 learner. Coming from a background where daily meals were not always guaranteed and educational resources were scarce, Kelvin often struggled to keep up in class and dream of a brighter future.
Overcoming Challenges
- Uncertain Meals: Kelvin frequently went to school on an empty stomach, which affected his concentration and participation.
- Limited Educational Support: without academic help or proper materials at home, he found it difficult to progress in his studies.
- Shy and Reserved: lacking confidence, Kelvin was hesitant to engage with teachers and peers.
Intervention: Love in Action and JJoy Foundation
Love in Action, with generous support from partners like JJoy Foundation, welcomed Kelvin into their afterschool and feeding program. The initiative provided him with a nutritious meal every day, supplementary academic assistance, and a safe, nurturing space to grow. The staff encouraged him to believe in his abilities and set ambitious goals for himself.
- Daily Meals: Regular, healthy meals meant Kelvin could focus and participate actively in his classes.
