We’re excited to share the latest news with you as we continue through this spring season of renewal, bringing new life and new joy to our work around the world. The progress lately has been amazing – here’s what has been happening over the past few months:
From bare ground to complete walls, a block of classrooms is well underway in Rwanda! Volunteers kicked off this project in March and today we are preparing to install doors, windows and the roof. Because of your contributions, we will be able to get kids in these classrooms by the start of the fall school session. 📚 🇷🇼
JJoy’s first ever team to Lower Mustang was a big success! Our international volunteers worked with our Nepali partners to bring health care to more than 135 individuals living around the village of Marpha. Thanks to everyone who participated and supported this event – your generosity makes a real difference. 🏥🇳🇵
After a month of heavy flooding, we’re thrilled to report that the corn in Malawi has been successfully harvested! Our farm production has allowed us to provide 329 children with a meal every day for the past year. Congratulations to the LIAM team on a job well done – keep up the good work! 🐓 🌽 🇲🇼
Did you know? The Volunteer Building Cambodia Community Center is excited to welcome volunteers to assist teachers in their classrooms. No prior teaching experience is required and placements are available nearly any week of the year, for any length of time that suits your schedule. Contact us today at info@jjoyfoundation.org to learn more about how you can become involved. 📚 🇰🇭
There has been a flurry of activity in Cambodia lately! This year we have already helped 14 families improve their living situations through projects funded by corporate teams, volunteer teams, general JJoy support and individual project sponsors. And we have another project scheduled next week. We appreciate all of the support – you are making amazing things happen! 🏠🇰🇭
Don’t forget: you can support JJoy through our ink cartridge recycling and printing supplies purchase programs! Visit our dedicated webpage for instructions on how to credit JJoy for your recycling or purchase from PlantGreen. You’ll also find there a variety of downloadable flyers that you can share to your own social media to engage others in this cause! Every dollar counts.
JJoy is now recruiting our next volunteer teams to Cambodia. We currently have openings on teams traveling October 18-24, November 15-21 and January 17-23. New teams are likely to be announced over the next few weeks, so watch our social media for the latest updates. And if you are interested in leading a team of your own, let us know – we can make it happen!
