In February 2025, JJoy Foundation initiated a project with our partner Volunteer Building Cambodia to provide a family with a new home, sanitary latrine, clean water system and solar power. This project was generously funded by donations from JJoy’s volunteer team VBC-250214-JK.
Let’s meet the family!
Both Pich and Saouert stopped studying in Grade 4. They are now living with their young son in a remote area. The isolation results in many problems, including having no neighbors to depend on, traveling great distances to collect water, and being unable to access public electricity. In addition, their living conditions are rudimentary and they do not have a latrine.
The family has been quite anxious about their inability to provide a safe home for their son. And, to add to their concern, Saouert is pregnant with their second child. What is a true blessing is also a source of worry for this young family.
As JJoy’s Volunteer team met the family at the beginning of the week, there was a true sense of excitement. Together they worked together to complete this project which will forever change the lives of members of this sweet family.
