We’re excited to share our summer newsletter with you. Here’s what has been happening over the past few months:
Work with our newest partner in Rwanda has begun! In July, JJoy sponsored a scholastic festival during students’ summer holiday. It’s an opportunity to keep kids engaged during the summer months and to bring the community together for reading and book distributions, health workshops, and fun traditional dance performances. We’re excited for this partnership to grow and make an impact. Our newly opened permanent health clinic in Chhonup, Nepal is going strong! In our first three months we’ve already treated more than 600 patients and provided diet and lifestyle counseling to many more. JJoy Volunteers are excited to have a chance to visit the clinic in person on our upcoming Service Trip in November. 🏥🇳🇵
Over the summer, our projects in Cambodia were supported by individual donor sponsorships and our first ever Legacy Build. A small group of JJoy Founding Donors visited our project in Malawi for the first time in August! It was amazing to see the work-in-action. Your donations make possible 200-300 meals per day for kids in an afterschool program through our corn farm and chicken programs. We’re now preparing for fall planting and have exciting plans to expand the number of chickens we are raising soon. 🐓 🌽 🇲🇼
The Centro Recreativo Joy in Mozambique now has a roof! We’re grateful to all of the donors and supporters who have helped us reach this important milestone. We’re under discussions now for the next phase of construction. 🛠 🇲🇿
