JJoy-VBC Project ID010: Chansovichet, Posath, Sovichetmonyvotey and Sovichetdaney

Project Sponsor: Dennis and Marion Geiser

Construction: July 2024

In July 2024, JJoy Foundation initiated a project with Volunteer Building Cambodia to provide a family with a new clean water well. This project was funded entirely by donations from JJoy Supporters Dennis and Marion Geiser.

Let’s meet the family!

Chansovichet graduated from high school and earns $5 per day as a teacher of Pali (a monastic language) at a local Pagoda. Posath did not attend school herself and now is very busy at home caring for their two daughters, age 4 years and 8 months.

The opportunity to have clean and accessible water is a huge blessing for this family.  They believe it will not only improve their health but also ease some of their daily burdens.  Congratulations!

6 Month Update: January 2025

Six months after receiving their clean water well, Chansovichet, Posath, Sovichetmonyvotey and Sovichetdaney are doing well!  They report that the well has improved their health and spirits and they couldn’t be happier. Chansoviechet now teaches both Pali and English at the pagoda, more than doubling his monthly income. We’re so happy to see this family thriving and can’t wait for their next update!

One Year Update: July 2025

Chansovichet continues to work hard as a teacher and now is earning $195 per month. With clean water literally at their doorstep, this family is able to focus on the future rather than worrying every day about their living situation.  Sovichetmonyvotey is now attending kindergarten!  This family’s future is bright.

Two Year Update: July 2026
