Cambodia Family Transformation
JJoy-VBC Project ID006: Boeurt, Ann, Vireak and Sambo
Construction: March 2024
In March 2024, JJoy Foundation initiated a project with Volunteer Building Cambodia to provide a family with a home equipped with sanitary latrine, solar power and a water filter.
Let’s meet the family!
Boeurt and Ann live with their children in the Pouk District of Siem Reap Province. Boeurt is a construction worker. When he is able to find work, he earns $6.75 per day. Ann stays home to take care of Vireak and Sambo who are both too young to attend school.
They are overjoyed at the prospects of what is to come!
6 Month Update: September 2024
Exciting changes have taken place for this sweet family since they moved into their new home 6 months ago. Boeurt has been able to work more steadily and now earns approximately $200 per month. The family is also planning to begin farming on a 10m x 75m plot on their land.
This family is well organized and always has a positive attitude. We are so happy to see them thriving!
One Year Update: May 2025
It’s hard to believe it’s already been a year since Boueurt, Ann, Vireak and Sambo have been living in their new home. This family continues to make steady progress on their way to a more comfortable and dignified life.
Recently, Boeurt continues to do construction work and has also begun producing palm sugar. His monthly income has risen to $228/month.
The family is deeply grateful for their new home and are amazed by the incredible changes they have experienced. They feel the difference a strong, secure place to call home makes in their lives every single day. Their hearts are filled with appreciation.
Two Year Update: May 2026
