For most of us, flipping on a light switch, locking the front door, and turning on a faucet are part of our daily routine. Unfortunately, that’s not the case in rural Cambodia. In villages throughout Siem Reap Province, many families live without these and other necessities we may take for granted: adequate housing, access to safe drinking water and basic sanitation.
Today, your gift can change a Cambodian family’s life forever! JJoy Foundation is teaming up with Volunteer Building Cambodia (VBC), a Cambodian non-profit organization, to transform your support into essential solutions for families living in extreme poverty.
Together, we can:
- Give Clean Water: Many families use contaminated water from streams for drinking, cooking, and bathing. $90 purchases a Water Filter, giving an entire household clean water. $255 installs a clean water well.
- Give Household Items: Families with limited income often cannot afford basic necessities. $130 provides new homeowners with a gift of essential supplies such as cooking pots and oil, rice, sleeping mats and more.
- Give Power: Solar power provides light for children to study, increases security and reduces costly electricity bills. $265 brings solar power to a family’s home.
- Give a Toilet: Sanitary latrines reduce health risks and increase personal dignity. $325 builds a toilet on land where clean water supplies will not be corrupted.
- Give a House: VBC builds sturdy Khmer-style (stilt) houses with concrete footings, wooden floors and metal roofs. The space underneath the house is also used for daily living and cooking. $3,040 can build a brand new home!
Thank you for giving the gift of health and safety this Giving Tuesday!
