Teamwork is at the heart of everything JJoy Foundation does. Without the hard work, dedication, and passion of our partners, we would not be able to achieve our vision of a world where every person can thrive.
Through decades of international travel to 50+ countries, our Board of Directors has developed a deep knowledge and network of nonprofit operators. We’re leveraging our collective experience to bring together people around the world in support of projects that might otherwise be known only in their own communities.

Past Volunteer Projects

8th Annual Upper Mustang Free Health Camp
People living in the Upper Mustang region of Nepal lack access to medical services and many have never had a proper checkup with a qualified physician. Instead, they have relied on traditional medical practices which are only partially effective. In December 2023, a team of volunteers participated in JJoy's first ever volunteer team - the 8th Annual Upper Mustang Free Health Camp. During this project, a team of medical doctors and professionals organized by the Himalayan Guge Organization (HGO) offered free checkups, workshops, and health assessments for every individual in attendance - a total of 290 people over the course of 4 days! Volunteers supported doctors in recording vital signs, distributing medications, assisting with treatments and registering patients. In the time outside the clinic, the team soaked up the local culture and enjoyed the beautiful vistas. It was a special opportunity and a big success!

Healthy Home Construction in Rural Cambodia
In January 2024, JJoy organized a team of volunteers who worked with Volunteer Building Cambodia to improve the living conditions of two families in need in rural areas. Our team directly funded and participated in the construction of two houses and two toilets. We also provided two families with solar panels for electricity and bio-sand water filters to improve the quality of their drinking water! At the end of the week, the team celebrated with the new homeowners in a special Buddhist blessing ceremony. Working side by side with a family offers a unique opportunity to more deeply understand the culture, community, and daily lives of these beneficiaries.
